With summer in full swing, Las Vegas locals are flocking to water parks to beat the heat. One of the city’s most popular summer attractions is Wet ‘N’ Wild.
This $50 million world-class attraction is perfect for thrill seekers and families alike. Adrenaline junkies can take on heart-pounding slides like Tornado and Constrictor, or enjoy family-friendly attractions like Canyon Cliffs and the Colorado Cooler lazy river. You’ll be glad you read this!
Theme Park
With the weather in Las Vegas being as hot as it is, water parks and lazy rivers are the best ways to beat the summer heat. Wet n Wild is an excellent option for families and thrill seekers alike with plenty of slides and attractions.
The park also has several unique rides and attractions such as the Hoover Half Pipe, the first waterslide gaming experience in North America, Rattler, the first slide of its kind with tight turns, and Canyon Cliffs, a high-speed body slide with two drops. Families and those looking for a more relaxing day can enjoy Paradise Falls, the interactive children’s water playground; Colorado Cooler, the lazy river; and Red Rock Bay, a wave pool.
Most of the rides have a height requirement of 42 inches and most require at least two riders. The exceptions are the Tornado and Canyon Cliffs, which require at least 48 inches tall. Xpress Bands are available for an additional cost to skip the ride lines, however, you must have a valid general admission ticket in order to use them.
Water Slides
There are many water slides to choose from here at Wet n Wild. Some are more intense than others. For example, Canyon Cliffs drops you six stories on a high trill slide or the Royal Flush Extreme spins you around in a tube. For something milder, the Tornado or Desert Racers will have you racing with friends for some fun and healthy competition.
Guests can also enjoy a relaxing float down the Colorado Cooler or hang out at the wave pool. There is even a kiddie aquatic playground and splash pad for the little ones.
Wet n Wild is located on Fort Apache Road and is adjacent to the Parkdale Community Center & Rec Park. Depending on the type of pass you purchase, parking may be included. If not, a fee is charged. Lazy River
Wet n Wild Las Vegas (formerly Cowabunga Bay Henderson) has an epic lazy river that is one of the highlights of this water park. It’s a great way to relax and enjoy the summer sun, even on those scorching days when it’s too hot for anything else.
Thrill seekers can test their skills on waterslides like the Rattler, voted America’s #1 water slide, and Constrictor, which drops riders through the belly of a snake. The park also features two body slides that drop six stories and accelerate riders to speeds of up to 33 feet per second.
Those looking for a more relaxing experience can float on the Colorado Cooler, a 1,100-foot-long river that cuts through the center of the park. Guests can also surf in the Red Rock Bay wave pool or hang out in Paradise Falls, an interactive children’s area with fun zones and kid-friendly slides. Several large shady areas and private cabanas are available to escape the Vegas sun, and food can be purchased from the Oasis Cafe, Riverside Pizzeria and Dippin’ Dots.

There is a variety of food and beverage options at Wet n Wild, such as the Oasis Cafe and Waveside Cold Treats which serve ice cream, milkshakes, and smoothies.
